FORCE XV Panthers win the cup! (27/07/2010)

Congratulations to FORCE XV Panthers who beat the OAPs in the Cup Final to be crowned All Ireland Tag Champions.

It was a fitting finale to the tournament with the two teams who have consistently been the best in the country over the past few years fighting it out for the title.

The FORCE XV Panthers (reigning Pig n Porter Champions) and the OAPs (aka Pumas who are reigning Beach Tag and 2009 All Ireland Champions) played out an exciting final with the Panthers taking the game in literally the last second with a try as the game was about to enter golden try extra time.

FORCE XV gives first aid to Xynthia victims (02/03/2010)

After the devastating storm named Xynthia battered France's Atlantic regions, and in particular coastal cities in Vendée & Charente Maritime, FORCE XV decided to help those who have lost everything.

In total, more than 500 items (such as jackets, wind breakers, tracksuits, fleeces, t-shirts/polos, socks etc.) were given to the competent associations & authorities of Chatelaillon-Plage, to be distributed to the local populations in need.

This gesture of solidarity & support towards the local population came naturally. For FORCE XV, this is exactly what rugby is.

If you also want to help the Xynthia victims, send your donations to:

Another win for the POC'ettes! (02/03/2010)

The POC'ettes achieved a great performance over the weekend.

Left at 5.00am heading to Paris, the girls snapped up the 3 points victory without leaving any chances to their opponents, Maison Lafitte.

The bus had a good heating and the GPS worked well to find the restaurant on the way there. It was a bit more complicated on the way back, but the girls could see the Eiffel Tower by night!

They also had the chance to appreciate the dexterity of our driver, reversing in front of a bridge too low for the bus, at 3.60m!

After a few songs and many hours driving, we were back in our beautiful city of La Rochelle around 2 o'clock in the morning.

The POC'ettes are already dreaming of the next game, which is going to be played by night!

Come along and support the POC'ettes on March 6th 2010 for the match: Pallice Océan Club - Rennes, at 7.00pm Plaine de jeux Colette Besson (Vin chaud & oysters tasting).

New body armour: the Absolute Seven (10/12/2009)

The FORCE XV range of protection has just been enlarged with the launch of the Absolute Seven.

This new body armour
was designed after having received feedback from numerous FORCE XV players who were asking for a lighter protection.

To meet their requirements, product developers decided to remove the ribs and backbone paddings to reduce weight and increase liberty of movement for the rugby player.

However, the Absolute Seven remains highly protective (impact absorption rate of 30%) featuring 7 zones of protection (shoulder, humeral, biceps, triceps & sternum paddings), anti-compression slits for optimal shock absorption and DRYGTex technology.

With its pure black & white design, the Absolute Seven is the best compromise between an integral body armour and a simple base layer.

Try it and you will feel “Hard as a Rock & Light as a Feather”!

FORCE XV: New signings. (30/11/2009)

Both players will sport different protective products from the FORCE XV range, as well as performance apparel and accessories.

Bonus-point win for RC Vannes (24/11/2009)

The RC Vannes has played some great rugby against a very brave team of Poitiers over the weekend. The Stade Poitevin was completely outpaced and could not compete in both physical and tactical fields.

Two nice tries were scored during the first half despite a violent wind. The RCV was leading 14-0 at half-time.

Four minutes after the start of the 2nd half, Vannes was back in action with a great prop try rewarding the hard work from the forwards (19-0, 44’). The wind, rain and RCV assaults resulted in a penalty.

What else? Oh yes, the RCV second row scored a last try, the fifth of a good win for Vannes (33-0), which allows the RCV to anchor the top of the Federale 1 table, thus rewarding the dedication of the team . A very good thing for the playoffs race.

Oakmeadians Triumph (20/11/2009)

Former Bath and New Zealand sevens star Brendon Daniel led Oakmeadians RFC to a thrilling Bournemouth Sevens triumph. Oakmeadians RFC repeated this season’s club successes at one of the South’s most prestigious Festivals of Rugby and in a fitting finale, Oaks claimed the South of England Cup honours with an exciting 26-24 victory over their fierce local rivals Bournemouth RFC.

Oaks had lost to Bournemouth in their second group game but were determined to turn the result around and counteract that in the final. The large crowd were treated to a fine show of rugby and it looked as if the host club, Bournemouth RFC, would again claim the local bragging rights when they scored with six seconds remaining to take a 24-21 lead. However, in a fiercely fought game, Oaks hit back to score with the last act of added time.

Daniel commented: “We tried to implement a system which was easy to play, considering it was a group of players who’d never played together before”.
Oakmeadians RFC are striving to repeat the resounding success of last season when they were promoted to the South West 1 East Division

Oaks Director of Rugby, James Croker, said: “With the inclusion of Brendon Daniel and the addition of players such as Shane Coughlan, ex Wasps and London Scottish, and Will Samuels, an ex Australian Premier League player and a product of the Wasps Academy, in our squad, these are the building blocks needed to push for promotion this season”.

“These guys have played at an incredibly high standard and their professionalism and experience will hopefully rub off on the rest of the squad. With this type of talent as well as the remainder of last year’s squad, I am confident that a top four finish is a possibility”.

FORCE XV wishes the Oaks all the best for this season.

Trophée Marine Nationale (20/11/2009)

The French Navy organized a Sevens tournament, the "Trophée Marine Nationale", held at the Ecole Polytechnique on Thursday 28th May 2009.

More than 200 participants from 16 major colleges registered for the tournament and travelled to the Ecole Polytechnique based in Palaiseau. The Ponts et Chaussées team won the "Elite" tournament against the courageous Sciences Po Paris team, while Les Mines de Paris won the "Promotion" tournament.

Amongst the numerous prizes offered by the Navy and the different sponsors such as FORCE XV and SUMMIT, the victorious teams won a short trip on one of the Navy's frigates.

The day was also an opportunity for the French Navy to introduce the rugby players to this rather unique environment via different activities such as short films, interactive games, competitions etc... The Collège Ostéopathique Sutherland was also on hand to bring some medical support and animate a recovery workshop for the players between the games.

Many thanks to our reseller based in Guerville SPORT CO PASSION and in particular to Lionel Ribaut for his presence and implication during the tournament.
